Hall's on Broadway - Providence RI
Ok so during my weekend splurge adventure I spent some time socializing with 2 of Rhode Islands cutest vintage store owners, Mary Ellen of Hall's and Jen of Rockets to Mars. Both happen to own shops directly across the street from one another.
Rare antiques, jewelry, handbags, purses, shoes, dresses, tops, bottoms, from high-end designer to locals...I fell in love.
What's also cool about Hall's is this room (above) dedicated to art from local artist. The shop is located in an area enriched with aspiring and professional artists. The pieces featured in this space are diverse but all share a raw starving artist look to them, which I thought made the room that much more interesting.
Still on a high from being mesmerized by Hall's, I decided to take Mary Ellen's advice and walked into Rockets to Mars. I'm glad I did. Jen, the owner, was so down to earth that I felt like asking her a zillion questions but didn't because I was too busy staring at things like this encyclopedia (above) placed casually on top of a complimenting red chair. I started reading a few paragraphs to see what this shit was about but it started to creep me out a little so I placed it back on the chair and walked away!
